Information about the M142, which is included with the Honda Civic Type R FK8R Package:

The M142 control unit from MoTeC ushers in a new era in engine control. The unique technology of the M1 redefines the freedom in engine tuning and offers complete control without compromise. Highly developed safety strategies make these control units ideal for specific racing classes and unlimited applications.

 

Advances in technology have increased the demands on vehicle components, especially the control unit. Have these requirements  reached a point where a single firmware ECU configuration can no longer meet the ECU requirements of the market (even with higher capacity and processor speed).

 

The M1 series was designed by MoTeC to overcome this one-to-one limitation of firmware on the ECU by developing a system where operational efficiency, advanced features and flexibility are the main goals. At its core, M1 offers the possibility of developing a range of flexible and tailor-made solutions (packages) that are ideal for any application (however complex it may be) and for use in specific racing series.

Vehicle compatibility:

This product includes CAN messaging for full OE vehicle integration. The package provides for OE vehicle systems such as power steering, ABS, starting systems and dashboards. The Bosch Motorsport ABS-M4 integration is also included.
