The Maptec B58 Ultimate Dry Sump System marks a new milestone in high-performance dry sump lubrication. With innovative oil channels, integrated main bearing support, an oil defoamer, separate cylinder head suction and much more, it achieves a previously unattained quality of oil supply. The negative pressure in the crankcase ensures additional engine power.
Development without compromise: From 3D scanning of a brand new B58 engine block with 0.02 mm resolution to CAD design and extensive bench testing to two years of testing at 1100 hp - we spared no expense or effort to develop the most advanced dry sump system. The multi-part dry sump oil pan also acts as cylinder block reinforcement.
Highlights:
- Billet CNC oil pan with low installation height, milled from solid.
- Crank web bulkhead to prevent oil foaming and loss of power.
- Integrated support on crankshaft main bearing blocks (Integral Girdle Plate).
- Stiffening of the engine block via the oil pan.
- 5-stage dry sump pump with integrated oil-air defoamer.
- One separate suction pump per two cylinders.
- Cylinder head and turbo return with separate suction pump.
- No oil foaming at 8000 RPM and 2.0 bar+ boost pressure – even with an open dry sump oil tank on the test bench.
- Increased engine performance through improved piston ring sealing. Negative pressure in the crankcase even at over 1000 HP.
- Constant oil pressure at all speeds and G-forces.
- Mounting plate for hydraulic power steering pump to improve steering performance in racing.
- Dry sump pump belt drive with 360 degree protection to prevent damage from stones.
- Industrially 3D printed belt cover (currently an FDM prototype is shown).
The system is designed for use with a hydraulic steering pump, but may also be able to be used with the original power steering system of Toyota Supra MKV, BMW 340i, etc. For specific applications, please enquire.
