This controller fits into the factory OEM housing. Installation is a breeze, with no modification to the factory wiring harness required for the models listed below. 

 

Designed for the Pre-facelift MX5 NB (MY1998-2000, 3 plug ECU, non-VVT 1.8L engine)

  • Please check whether your connector matches the header in the photo before purchasing.  
  • This control unit is only suitable for manual transmissions.  
  • Includes a 7 bar MAP sensor 
  • Most factory functions are supported

Note: This plugin features a new 4-pin powered CAN connector and cannot be connected to the old CANPCB cable. Use the CANJST4 cable (Link PN 101-0198) to connect CAN devices. This new 4-pin connector and cable not only provides the CAN connector, but also a protected 12V power supply and ground for powering the CAN devices. The power supply is protected by a self-resetting fuse with a continuous rating of 3 A.

 

Installation is possible without costly adjustments to the original wiring harness. Additional plugs or pins provide expansion options such as oil pressure input or anti-lag / logging switches.

 

Most of the vehicle's original functions are supported. Exceptions can be found in the data sheet.

 

This G4X generation is more responsive and has a higher bandwidth than its predecessor G4+.

G4X offers 8x faster communication speeds, allowing you to download data logs 8x faster and quickly transfer the entire log to new and improved PCLink software.

G4X features 512 MB of 32-bit integrated datalogging with up to 250 channels, each limited to 1000 Hz per channel (by the operating system), with a maximum combined of 100 kSamples/s.
