The GR Yaris Intake was developed through extensive data recording of temperatures, flow rates and bench tests. Since this is a turbocharged engine, heat and volume were the main considerations in its development. This suction system is designed to provide the highest possible flow rate while maintaining the lowest possible suction temperatures. Each component has been designed to provide the turbo with a smooth and free flow path. With a sealed system, we have improved the IATs of the OEM airbox and at the same time increased the internal volume in order to reduce the pressure drop and thus the pumping losses of the turbo. This allows the turbo to work more efficiently and reaches the peak value of the boost pressure earlier, which leads to a net gain in performance.
The filter itself has an outer diameter of 210mm or 8.3 ″ with a filter area of over 130,000mm ^ 2. The patented Venturi housing was developed to offer the maximum possible internal volume for the GR Yaris and ensures a laminar flow to the turbocharger.
